An eventful summer

This has been a very eventful summer at the Quadrangle with many groups using the forest garden as a camp site, as a peaceful place to do walking meditation and just to hang out there, watching the butterflies. We counted 64 tents pitched within our ‘crop circles’ for the Quadrangle Film Festival! And not a single tree or shrub was damaged. We are pleased with our idea to cut ‘circles’ for the campers, mow a network of paths across the field and leave the rest of the grass unmown as habitat for invertebrates.
Over the whole year we have done no watering and only 2 Judas Trees have died (probably because of late frosts, not drought) and one white currant bush. Cardboard as a mulch works wonders!
