Pond

Newts have been added to the pond, saved from a pond that was being filled in. The pond is looking good, it has a thriving population of water beetles, pond skaters, whirlygigs and an enormous number of snails. Almost no algae. The water vegetation is slowly getting established.

Red, black and white currants

The amount of fruit has taken us by surprise. Are they always going to do so well or did the strange weather this summer really suit them? Picking parties and jam making workshops for next year?
